In a world of increasing uncertainty, art offers a valuable platform for both artists and audiences to practice new ways of thinking and acting upon our changing circumstances, challenging the way people interact and engage with their environment.​

I Came To See… aims to reconnect the public with the cultural sector by bringing the independent art gallery experience to various outdoor locations within the Sydney CBD.

Each location will showcase original, contemporary artwork by emerging Australian artists in a safe and accessible environment, highlighting the importance of arts and culture in the city. Artworks will be on display and available to purchase at any time of the day/night for the duration of each exhibition.​

Supported by City of Sydney and Transport for NSW, the exhibitions acknowledge the significant role art and creativity has played during a time of unprecedented upheaval. It is an opportunity to support the artistic community, as well as the recovery of our city. Visitors are encouraged to re-engage with the CBD, reconnect with the community, and re-evaluate what's important.
