The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne is back for its 12th season, with a robust program of more than 100 films in 26 languages, in select Hoyts cinemas and also streaming online.
The festival celebrates the centenary of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray, and pays tribute to the late actor Dilip Kumar and late music icon S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, by featuring some of their groundbreaking work on the big screen.
On 15 August the festival commemorates the 75th Indian Independence Day with a flag raising ceremony, followed by a hotly anticipated dance competition, both events happening at Federation Square.
