The Ipswich Orpheus Chorale competes annually at the Queensland Eisteddfod. In the lead-up to this competition, the Chorale presents an Easter Concert of its competition repertoire. This year the show will feature 2 special guest artists:
Soprano - Elizabeth Shearer. Born in Brisbane and growing up in Ipswich, Elizabeth trained at the Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Classical Voice & Performance. She is a singer, actress, creative producer and theatremaker based on the Gold Coast. Elizabeth Shearer has been working over the last 7 years producing and performing work in Australia and the UK, within the context of fringe festivals and theatrical cabaret. A medium to which she has been developing her own artistic style, with two one-woman shows, that she wrote and self-produced called 'Bite Me But Smile' and 'Bird Be Crazy'. She has performed as part of many fringe festivals; Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Brighton, Camden and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has also had the pleasure of working at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Sydney for the past five years.
Young Pianist - Oscar Mathews. Oscar is a rising star having completed his AMEB Licentiate in Music (LMusA) on piano and commenced his performance studies at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music.
