The reel celluloid film experience is back at Dendy Newtown! Enjoy our glorious 35mm presentation of true cinema - from cult classics to festival favourites.
In conjunction with our French retro film festival, Vive La Révolution, join us at Dendy Newtown for a special 35mm screening of La Vie en Rose, starring Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard.
Cotillard gives a blazing performance as the legendary French icon Edith Piaf in the critically acclaimed La Vie en Rose. From the mean streets of the Belleville district of Paris to the dazzling limelight of New York's most famous concert halls, Piaf's life was a constant battle to sing and survive, to live and love.
Raised in her grandmother's brothel, Piaf was discovered in 1935 by nightclub owner Louis Leplee (Gérard Depardieu) who persuaded her to sing despite her extreme nervousness. In her audacious attempt to tame her tragic destiny, the Little Sparrow - her nickname - flew so high she could not fail to burn her wings.
