This monologue, dialogue, by one woman, of many women, by one chair, in one chair, in ever lower light, exhibits an enlightened character pushing through darkness, ever threatened by derailment of thought, purpose, self and you.
From Pulitzer Prize nominated playwright Will Eno, a 'Samuel Beckett for the John Stewart Generation,' (NY Times) comes a humorous, heart wrenching, harrowing performance by newcomer Claudia Shnier.
Lady Grey headlines the 2022, inaugural Panimo Pandemonium Festival, having been developed throughout the lockdowns of the last two years. Lady Grey is a companion piece to Thom Payne (based on nothing), performed by Toby Schmitz for Redline Productions in 2020 (dir. Andrew Henry).
It features costume design from Sydney Theatre Award nominated Esther Zhong and set from Sarah Amin (Three Fat Virgins Unassembled, 2021). It is the directorial debut for Zac Bush (Ninefold Ensemble, Virginia Plain).
'We exit the theatre with a mind full of questions - wondering where she has gone and what part of us she has taken with her.' - Australian Stage
Running Time: 40 min, no interval.
Playwright: Will Eno
Cast: Claudia Shnier
Creatives & Crew: Esther Zhong (Costume Design), Diana Alvarado (Movement Director), Jackson Used (Dramaturg), Kim Surya (SM & Graphic Design), Heidi Brosnan (Lighting), Sarah Amin (Set Design), Zac Bush (Director & Producer), Zac Saric (Sound Design).
