Learn the basics of laser cutting to create your own Christmas decorations

Led by an experienced facilitator in the Darling Square Library makerspace, this workshop is a great introduction to laser cutting for beginners.

You'll be guided to personalize a range of fun Christmas decoration templates using Adobe Illustrator. Once you're happy with your final design, we'll laser cut it for you

You'll receive your design during the class and you can add a hanging cord ready to display in your home or on your Christmas tree.

What you'll learn 

• Basic digital access to Adobe Illustrator

• Basic laser cutting

What you'll take home

• 2 laser cut Christmas decorations in plywood or perspex (If your design is not ready by the end of the workshop we will mail it to you)

What else you need to know

• Cost: $40 Full / $32 Concession

• Bookings and class size: Maximum 12 people - bookings are essential

• Eligibility for concession price: The ticket purchaser must hold a valid NSW Pensioner, Senior or full-time student card. Valid proof of concession to be shown in advance or in person at the workshop. If valid proof of concession is not provided, the full rate will be required to be paid.

• Suitable for: Ages 16 and over. Participants under 18 years of age require parental permission

• Experience level: Beginner workshop with no required knowledge

• Wear: Enclosed shoes and no loose-fitting clothing or jewellery

• Bring: All materials provided

• Cancellations: Bookings can be cancelled up to 7 days before the date of the workshop. Cancellations made within 7 days of the course start will not be refunded. See terms and conditions here
