Making Observations by Michael Armstrong is a local art exhibition showing at the Front Gallery and Cafe in Lyneham.
It includes a series of drawings, figure studies and sketches that reveal the outcomes of art practice by professional local artist, and founder of Mandala Studio, Michael Armstrong. Mike's art conveys a deep inner emotional expression rather than only describing the external form. He creates emotive allegories based on themes of love, loss, pain, shame and hope. Mike's technical mastery and highly attuned observation skills make his ability to create brave emotive allegories look seamless.
Art practice embodies present-moment awareness. A process of looking at the world, seeing what is and making art without any attachment to outcomes. This discipline, repetition and mastery of exercise uncover psychological, physical and spiritual truths as the creative process reveals authenticity. Mandala Studio in Lyneham is Mike's art studio and home to Michael Armstrong Art. It is a place for people who are artistically motivated to come together and be led in an artistic practice. The studio also offers yoga and BJJ classes guiding movement, mindfulness, creativity and connection in the community.
