About the workshop
Nasser Palangi is delighted to host this special workshop on how to begin the process of documenting personal, historical, heritage and cultural images and patterns by composing the objects, patterns, and calligraphy to create the unique contemporary artworks.
Collage techniques
This program has been designed to offer artists - audience's insights into the nature of memory and how it might be articulate in a heritage, historical, everyday life and family stories or any other concepts and ideas which people interest to explore visually.
During the session students will learn the methods of creative imagination by using the techniques of collage, which will be started with composing the photos from the personal and other materials on different ways and methods, which will be done as a 2 and 3-dimensional art works. They also will learn variety of media, use of found objects, photo transfer and various assemblage techniques.
Artist bio
Nasser Palangi (b. 1957, Hamedan, Iran) is a prominent Australian-Iranian multidisciplinary artist and lecturer. His creative journey has spanned continents, cultures, and artistic mediums, encompassing painting, installation, sculpture, photography, and digital art. This diverse range of mediums is a testament to his versatility and his ability to explore complex themes such as nature, heritage, history, and identity, particularly within the contexts of the Middle East and Australia. His works also address critical global issues, including ethics, politics, social dynamics, and sustainability.
His works are housed in some of the most prestigious collections worldwide, including the Dafen Oil Colour Museum (2021-2023), the British Art Museum (2005), and the Tehran Contemporary Art Museum (1999). Additionally, Palangi's art has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, further establishing him as a globally recognised artist.
