Gallery 1: Beyond the Dahlia Flower by Tara Cunniffe

'The concept behind my 2020 exhibition explores the depiction of emotional and psychological states. Dahlia flowers are the main surface subject matter for the development of this exploration. My oil paintings on canvas portray close up, detailed perspectives of Dahlia flowers with a strong emphasis and focus on each individual petal. The dense network of Dahlia flowers have many broken down layers that evoke a strong thematic representation of my personal vision and perception on life.'

Gallery 2: Sneaker Eulogy by Eric Ng

'Sneakers have risen from humble footwear to a sub-cultural phenomenon and volatile commodity in the past decades. Despite its fleeting shelf-life, these plastic and leather bound objects are imbued with personal stories and nostalgia to some.

'Sneaker Eulogy' is a self-indulgent obsessive illustrated exercise of pairs I had kept and let go of from my down-sizing closet. The miniature series celebrate and confront my own obsession with athletic footwear in miniscule detail.'

Gallery 3: Revealing Truth - The Turmoil of my Mind, Presence, and Natural Treasures by Beverly Matthews

'The exhibition is an installation of three complementary works. The Turmoil of my Mind is a collection of prepared pieces of commercial card containing a poem that reflects the turmoil that is often experienced when confronted with struggle. Presence is a cluster of prepared paper and card presenting the words of a poem celebrating that, in spite of life's struggles, we are never alone. Natural Treasures is an arrangement of opened envelopes displaying detailed, but partial, drawings of small natural items, paired with the scripted writing of an original poem, 'Little Things.''

Gallery 4: Drift: where the sea leads by Kristy Gordon

'Through the lens of slow philosophy, I place value on finding resonance in nature. With the coastal environment as my subject, I enter into a process where labour is my medium and, using repetitive mark-making techniques in painting and carving, I explore the vast potential for repetition to be meditative.'

Covid-19 Safe Guidelines As a result of Covid-19 & social distancing, we will not hold our typical opening night on Thursday's fortnightly. However, we will be extending our hours on Saturday from 10am - 5pm. We encourage visitors to social distance and avoid crowding while we celebrate artists and their artworks.

In accordance with the recommended social distancing rules, we have a maximum of 25 people allowed in the gallery.

Our staff will be monitoring numbers and you may be asked to wait should we reach the limit.

Dates may be subject to change based on current restrictions. The event will be updated accordingly on our website
