Urban Theatre Projects returns to Barangaroo with Momentum - a new deep listening experience presented in Blak Box.

Curated by Daniel Browning (Bundjalung/Kullilli/South Sea Islander), this sound work examines the impact of representations of First Nations peoples in global popular culture.

Momentum pivots on the central idea that the past has not passed using the 1983 music video for David Bowie's 'Let's Dance' as a starting point.

Contributions from Eric Avery (Ngiyampaa/Yuin/Gumbayngirr), Troy Russell (Birrpai/Kamilaroi) & Bree Baxter, Ursula Yovich (An Barra Clan, Burarra/Serbian), Evelyn Araluen (Bundjalung), Joel Davison (Gadigal/Dhunghutti), Jacob Morris (Gumea-Dharawal), Lorna Munro (Wiradjuri/Kamilaroi), Kirli Saunders (Gunai), Professor Jakelin Troy (Ngarigu), Vernon Ah Kee (Kuku Yalanji/Waanji/Yidinji/Gugu Yimithirr), Larissa Behrendt (Euahlayi), Wesley Enoch (Nunukul/Ngugi), Preston Peachey (Wiradjuri, Malyangapa) and Clint Bracknell (Wirlomin Noongar).

Momentum is well suited to people who are blind or vision impaired. It is a listening experience where the audience can experience music, spoken word and song from First Nations artists.

Commissioned by Infrastructure NSW and supported by the NSW Government.

With thanks to our sponsors and supporters Create NSW, Australia Council for the Arts, Bankstown Arts Centre, Nelson Meers Foundation, Danpal Australia, Red Room Poetry, Saturday Paper and Loud and Clear.
