Everyone is welcome to join Glen Innes-based belly dancing group 'Shimmy in the Glen' for a new kind of movement activity.
This class will include movement combinations, social dancing and opportunities to be creative. You will move in new and interesting ways. The warm-up is based on somatic principles and the cool-down includes gentle stretching. In between, walking and movements from belly dance and other dance styles will be included, such as folkloric and regional dances, salsa, ballet and Bollywood.
Options will be available for everybody, including seated variations.
A wide variety of music styles will inspire and encourage movements. From relaxing lo-fi to upbeat pop music from around the world, the playlist will include old favourites, world music, and new genres to keep things interesting.
Take this time to relax, express your creativity and have fun. Leave the rest of the world outside and indulge in an hour of self-care and movement exploration.
