Enter another world as you grapple perhaps with words like mycocycling and mycotailoring. The following are two events held by MYCOommunity Applied Mycology who are passionate about community involvement in applied mycology and to help advance mycological knowledge in Australia
Sat 29 Aug 2020 from 1.45-3.30pm - Mycocycling: Cultivation on Household Waste
Sat 19 Sep 2020 from 1.45-3.30pm - Mycomaterials and Mycotailoring
The first event on 29 Aug will teach you to divert waste and valuable resources from landfill by cultivating mushrooms with what you have at home. Amanda Morglund, a fashion designer and founder of Mycelium Made is involved in both events. She creates fabrics using discarded textiles and mycelium through a process called mycotailoring. Come along and explore biofabricated materials made from fungi as you take a closer look at how mycelium and myco-leather based mycomaterials are processed and how they perform. Follow the links for more information.
Tickets range from $14.40 to $28 for members, concession, standard and so on and all profit goes to the citizen science project Wild Fungi DNA
