Step outside and enjoy the immense power of nature this Spring! From September 5th to November 8th 2020, Nooroo Garden is open to the public every day - including the spring school holidays and Labour Day long weekend.
Nooroo is an aboriginal word meaning 'shady place', and the magical garden was built and planted in 1880 by William Hay in Mount Wilson. Today, Nooroo Garden is regarded as one of Australia's best-known cold climate gardens and showcases the beauty and spectacle of plant and flower species from around the world, including a wide variety of European and native Australian plants
Immerse yourself in over 100 years of horticultural history and admire the first flowers to bloom in spring - from beautiful daffodils and camellias to magnificent magnolias and rhododendrons.
The huge banks of mollis azaleas, as well as the extensive beds of bluebells, crocus and other bulbs are also a sight to behold in early spring.
Don't miss the stunning rose gardens and the old tennis court which has been converted into the world-famous wisteria garden!
The court contains a collection of 28 standard wisterias ranging in colour from white to deep purple. The wisteria court looks its most magnificent in late October each year.
Plan your visit today! Visitors are welcome to enjoy a picnic in the garden, however, please remove any rubbish when you head home.
The gardens are open from 10am to 4pm daily. All-day entry is $10 per adult and $2 per child (up to 12 years). Pay at the gate (electronic facilities are available).
Parking is available outside the property.
Pets are welcome to visit Nooroo Garden provided that they are supervised closely and kept on a leash at all times.
