Clem Newchurch is a Kaurna Narungga Kokatha man who has resided in the southern Adelaide region for most of his life. He has extended Ancestral connections to the sorrounding South Australian Aboriginal Nations of Yankanyjatjara and Ngarrindjeri.
Clem has a passion for native plants that grow around the state of South Australia. In this online Grow it Local workshop he will share his knowledge of South Australian bush foods and other traditional plant uses.
Although based in South Australia, Brisbane residents may be interested in hearing Clem's thoughts on sustainability and how the native environment can contribute to better climate change outcomes if Aboriginal knowledge is embraced. Clem will provide recommendations for what people can do at home if they wish to explore planting natives in their backyards and will discuss some of the many benfits in doing this.
