BrisAsia Festival 2026 presents Open Encounters: BrisAsia Intercultural Arts Hub. Step into a dynamic space where cultural boundaries dissolve and artistic traditions converge. Open Encounters brings together artists specialising in intercultural collaboration across diverse creative and cultural backgrounds. This intimate morning features members of Adelaide's acclaimed Hyoshi in Counterpoint, merging Japanese taiko drumming with Western classical traditions, alongside some of Brisbane's finest creative practitioners. Experience the creative process through live demonstration as artists share their techniques, philosophies, and collaborative approaches. Through guided conversation and Q&A, gain insight into how distinct cultural art forms meet, influence, and transform one another. The session flows from demonstration to discussion, offering opportunities to ask questions and delve deeper into intercultural artistic practice. Location: Queensland Multicultural Centre, 102 Main Street, Kangaroo Point Presented by BEMAC in partnership with NEXUS Arts.
