Gallery 1 | Inheritance by Liz Bradshaw

'This body of work is a series of sculptural experiments with found objects, industrial detritus and building materials that reflect on our over-consumption and exploitation of natural resources; our relentless impact on our environment; and what drives this destructive excess. '

Gallery 2 | LESS IS MORE - PEOPLE MINIMALISM by Christoph Mueller

'Christoph focuses in his exhibition on people, in different locations and everyday situations. By applying a minimalistic and monochrome approach, Christoph's aims to slow things down and give us time and space to see and imagine what people were experiencing at the time the image was taken. By removing colour, Christoph is removing elements that could distract viewers from this subject. To help focus their attention, Christoph also uses the technique of minimalism. Lines, contrast and repetition are employed to increase the impact.'

Gallery 3 | HEAD ON PHOTO FESTIVAL: If mothers were flowers I'd pick you by Uma Manasseh

'My work rawly portrays the last phase of life, centring around my bedridden grandmother, trapped within the fractured mind of dementia. Loss, isolation and the disjointed nature of oneself is focal for most, when observing this stage. I do not believe we should shy away from these experiences, rather, explore the complex dualities of life and death expressed in the essence of the dissolving self. This was confronting for me at 17 and brought forth many questions.'

Gallery 4 | HEAD ON PHOTO FESTIVAL: Acholiland - portraits of resilience by Brian Hodges

'Conflict and violence have plagued much of Uganda since its independence in 1962. The most protracted of these conflicts, the insurgency against the Lord's Resistance Army, lasted nearly 18 years. Nearly 2 million people were forcibly displaced and confined into settlements and tens of thousands were kidnapped, mutilated or killed. Conflict eventually ceased; In 2007 Lord's Resistance Army retreated from northern Uganda. ... While many still carry the physical and emotional scars of unconscionable devastation, it is evident the human spirit is profoundly capable of emerging with resilience after war.'
