Join the innovators applying quantum tech to the big space challenges - from delivering secure space-to-earth communications to navigation.
Next generation quantum technologies delivering more powerful computing, communications, and sensing capabilities are set to play a major role in space exploration. This panel discussion hosted by Sydney Quantum Academy will bring together the innovators applying quantum to some of our biggest space challenges - from delivering secure space-to-earth communications to navigation across vast, unknown distances.
Where are the opportunities for quantum technology and entrepreneurs? And what are the potential applications for these technologies back here on earth?
Visiting Entrepreneur (joining online)
Chune Yang Lum - SpeQtral, CEO and Co-Founder
Panel (in-person)
Diviya Devani - Space Systems Engineer, Q-CTRL
Dr Zixin Huang - Sydney Quantum Academy Fellow
About Chune Yang Lum
Chune Yang Lum is the Co-founder and CEO of SpeQtral, a spin-off company from the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore that is developing and commercializing space-based quantum communication systems to secure existing communication networks with an additional quantum-secured encryption layer.
About Diviya Devani
Diviya Devani is a space systems engineer at Q-CTRL, a Sydney-based global quantum technology company. Q-CTRL has announced plans to provide quantum sensing and navigation technologies for space exploration beginning with uncrewed lunar missions by the SEVEN SISTERS space industry consortium in Australia.
About Dr Zixin Huang
Dr Zixin Huang is a Sydney Quantum Academy Fellow whose research at the Macquarie Centre for Quantum Engineering involves exploring how astronomers can utilise enhanced quantum imaging to probe deeper into space with unprecedented resolution.
About Sydney Quantum Academy (SQA)
Our vision is to build Australia's quantum economy. Collaborating with academia, industry and government, we will harness Sydney's collective quantum expertise to develop diverse talent and a globally recognised quantum ecosystem. We're a partnership between Macquarie University, UNSW Sydney, University of Sydney and UTS, supported by the NSW Government.
This is a hybrid event. Join online or in-person at the Quantum Terminal. At the end of the in-person event, you will have a chance to network with the quantum community following the panel discussion.
The Visiting Entrepreneur Program is produced by the City of Sydney with partner organisations from the local startup ecosystem. The 2022 edition is kindly supported by Tech Central and the Greater Cities Commission.
