The Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) is Queensland's largest and most loved annual event, attracting on average 400,000 people.
Run by the RNA and staged at its original birthplace, the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Ekka brings the country and city together for a true celebration of agriculture.
The Ekka showcases the best of Queensland, attracting more than 21,000 competition entries from woodchop to giant vegetables, 10,000 animals from beef cattle to cats and dogs, world-class live entertainment, award-winning food and wine, carnival rides and showbags, family shopping, educational activities and much more.

The Main Arena comes alive each night of show with the spectacular never before seen night show EkkaNITES proudly presented by Brisbane City Council. This year's theme is 'imagine'.The night show will feature an action-packed program including:
- Queensland Harness Racing presented by Racing Queensland
- a new equine experience by everyone's favourite horse trainer Dave Manchon
- V8 utes tearing around the arena
- a nail-biting freestyle motocross display with motorcycles launching an incredible 15 metres into the air
- a stunning fireworks display lighting up the night sky
- and much more!

Learn how to be prepared for severe weather when you visit Brisbane City Council in the Agricultural Hall during the Ekka. With loads of interactive opportunities - including how to check your flood or bushfire risk, how to prepare your home, and what to pack in an emergency kit - you and the family will leave much more prepared for severe weather than when you arrived. Make sure you and the kids capture a photo at our photo opportunity!
