Solastalgia
Barbara Hodgson, Buffy Jackson & Sallie Saunders
A group exhibition addressing the deep concerns of climate change and unwanted transformation of our environment. The artists are all influenced by a sense of solastalgia or "the ongoing loss of solace and the sense of desolation connected to the present state of one's home territory". Albrecht A 2019, Earth Emotions: New Words for a New World, Cornell University Press.
M16 Artspace operates on the lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people. We honour and pay our respects to its traditional custodians. We acknowledge this land 'always was and always will be' the country of Australia's First Nations People. Sovereignty was never ceded.
