Songs for Freedom is an uplifting concert of original songs created by Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi artists in the Pilbara town of Ieramugadu (Roebourne WA). The Canberra event will take place on Saturday 9th September 2023 at 7pm, where we welcome all community to this family friendly event of cultural sharing through music, song, and visual artworks.
Songs for Freedom is the product of a project that has been running in Roebourne since 2010, when the Elders invited Big hART to come into the community. Since that time Big hART supported by the Elders, have delivered workshops in the community, the school and the prison, creating digital content, music, theatre, and performance to change the negative stories told about Roebourne WA.
