Scratch board printmaking is a simple and fun relief printing process suitable for all ages.
Children will use a scribe to create drawings of creepy crawlies onto a foam printing board. The surface is inked with small rollers and water-based printing ink and images are transferred onto paper and card.
We will create a collage landscape with leaves and flowers for our printed bugs to live in. Using coloured paper and found images from magazines, we'll cut and glue our own original garden landscapes for our hand-printed bugs. We'll experiment with colour, texture and layering to create beautiful hand printed artworks incorporating our collage and relief printed elements.
This program is a great way for kids to learn a new printmaking technique in our fully equipped print studio under the guidance of a professional printmaker.
Intimate class size: maximum 10 students
Level: designed for beginner level students
Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes
Bring: yourself - all materials provided
For children 6 to 9 years of age
