Join us for a special event screening and the Canberra premiere of Take Heart: Deadly Heart. All profits are being donated to RHDAustralia.
Take Heart: Deadly Heart is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2016 film Take Heart: The Quest to Rid Australasia from Rheumatic Heart Disease.

Take Heart catapulted Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) into national consciousness. In 2022, Take Heart: Deadly Heart is calling on the Commonwealth Government to fund the community-led services that prevent RHD and keep families strong and together.

RHD has the biggest negative impact on the life expectancy gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. RHD is entirely preventable, but Australia has some of the highest rates of the disease in the world, almost exclusively in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. In a country like Australia, RHD should no longer exist. Yet it continues to threaten the lives of our most vulnerable. For many Aboriginal and Torres Strait children, RHD results in open heart surgery, some as young as five years old.

Australia needs a health system that works for all of us, not some of us.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session.
