'The Future of Sydney' is a virtual think tank series that aims to initiate an open discussion on some of the key urban issues facing the livability of Sydney.
The third online session focuses on climate action. We will have Prof Mattheos Santamouris (UNSW) and Michael Mobbs (Sustainable House) presenting some of their recent research and advocacy activities on climate action. The event continues with a panel discussion with Nicki Hutley (Social Outcomes) and Stephen Conlon (Candidate for City of Sydney Council) on the following broad questions:
What is the current status of climate change impacts and risks in Sydney?
What are the gaps and areas for improvement in climate change related policies and planning?
Where do we want to be ideally in the next 5-10 years?
'The Future of Sydney' think tank series is organised in collaboration with Yvonne Weldon who is the first Aboriginal-Australian candidate for Lord Mayor of Sydney in the upcoming NSW local government elections in September 2021.
The event is free, open to public and hosted by Dr Meead Saberi from University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney via Zoom. Link to the Zoom meeting will provided once registration is completed on Eventbrite.
