Lucky jade, the Chinese zodiac, koi fish, and lustrous silks take over the Historic Phone Booths of Adelaide Railway Station in a site-specific installation by Jake Yang.
Each booth, dedicated to a symbolic Chinese colour (black, white, red, green, and yellow), hosts a playful interaction between painting, textiles, ceramics, and sculptures, rich in motifs and meaning.
In transposing traditional Chinese artefacts, Yang engages in an act of empowerment, exploring and embracing his cultural identity.
