This NAIDOC Week, head to the Art Gallery of NSW for Volume presents: Lightning song - a huge free night of surf rock, indie rock, folk rock and dub celebrating some of the most electric First Nations musicians working today.
Featuring live performances by renowned and emerging superstars, the night is headlined by Yolŋu surf rockers King Stingray.
Luritja musician Keanu Nelson will bring a passionate blend of homespun dub music by way of Papunya in the Northern Territory, and Wergaia/Wemba Wemba indie-songwriter Alice Skye will bring her unique form of confessional bedroom rock to the Art Gallery.
Also, the premiere of a new music composition by Bundjalung/Lama Lama singer-songwriter Kev Carmody will be played at various locations in Naala Badu throughout the night. The song 'CarnavonGirraweenBunyas' will take listeners on an immersive 30-minute journey through Country, led by one of our greatest living songwriters.
