Erin Cormican and her niece Bronte Cormican-Jones have reunited for their second joint exhibition.
What We Bring Home features a celebration of nature's diverse palate through alcohol ink and acrylic paintings, photographs on glass and mirror and hand-blown glass works. Both avid travellers, the artists draw on their memories of place, working together and individually to produce an eclectic collection of work.
Now a full-time artist, Erin focuses on alcohol inks and acrylics to explore the subtleties and enormous range of colours that nature provides. Erin happily completes commission works, and has exhibited in Sydney, and internationally. Her work has been acquired by the Haegeumgang Theme Museum and Yukyang Art Museum's collection, in Geoje, South Korea.
Bronte is an emerging conceptual artist and writer exploring the field of spatial practice through object, installation, performance and photography. Sheexplores the ways that glass can be both reflective and transparent, and can hold and refract light. Bronte holds a BVA Hons from Sydney College of the Arts, many awards including the 2022 Fuse Glass Prize Emerging Award, and has undertaken artist residencies around Australia. Her work has been selected for the 2024 MilanoVetro Glass Biennale in Italy.
