International Women's Day panel & drinks with key creatives behind Australia's first all-IWD panel & networking drinks presented by Hemlock & Cedar Films in association with City of Sydney, Actors Centre AustraliaStranger with My Face International Film Festival, the NSW chapter of WIFT Australia, Sydney Film Fatales & Screen Vixens.

Join key creatives behind Australia's first all-women horror anthology Dark Whispers - Volume 1 for a discussion of the state of play of genre filmmaking in Australia. Brought together by the project's creator and lead producer Megan Riakos (Crushed), these are filmmakers with bold visions, who have made their voices heard in a highly competitive field by playing to their unique strengths. They have succeeded by pushing boundaries, whether thematically, in terms of style or format or even in terms of genre definitions.

Guided by moderator Rosie Lourde (Deadhouse Dark, Romance on the Menu) the panel will reflect on their shared love of the dark genre and their experiences in navigating the crucial areas of financing, production and marketing. There will also be a discussion of the notion of developing a personal 'brand' and how to develop a sustainable career in the arts.

Dark Whispers - Volume 1 is about a young woman who inherits her mother's Book of Dark Whispers only to discover 10 disturbing tales within its pages. Starring Andrea Demetriades, Asher Keddie and Anthony LaPaglia, the Dark Whispers anthology is brought to you by 11 female filmmakers from across Australia.
