For experienced and committed drama students. Spend a semester exploring a subject or theatrical style and use it to create a piece of theatre. Be involved in every step of the theatre making process from writing, acting, directing and designing. Let our experienced ATYP tutor guide you through the devising process, exploring and creating a piece of theatre that comes directly from your own experiences.
First term classes will focus on skill development and ensemble work, while the second term gives students a chance to put these skills to use. Working together to devise a scripted show, through rehearsals and performance young artists learn the basics of stagecraft, voice work and performance technique. Guided by an ATYP industry professional these classes will equip participants with the skills and terminology needed as they progress into the senior classes.
Due to the extended lockdown of Greater Sydney, our Semester 2 weekly drama classes will begin on Saturday 24 July and will commence online. At this stage with the lockdown due to end on July 30th, we will only hold week 1 of classes online, but if the lockdown does extend we will continue to run classes online until it is safe to return to our classrooms in person.
Entry into this class is via application only and commitment to every class is vital.
Term 3: 25 July - 12 September
Term 4: 10 Oct - 5 December
Performance weekend: 4-5 December
