Willoughby City Council is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit as part of its 2023 Lunar New Year celebrations, encouraging visitors to leap in and discover the culinary delights, entertainment and art experiences on offer in Chatswood from 18 January to 12 February, 2023.
Named in honour of the 2023 Chinese zodiac sign, the Chatswood Year of the Rabbit Festival will feature a wide range of multicultural events. Funding for this project has been provided by the NSW Government and will this year's festival jam-packed with new attractions and events.
There will also be eight giant inflatable bunnies designed by Parer Studios to discover around the CBD.
The East Meets West Orchestral Concert, previously a ticketed event, will now be free for thousands to enjoy Chatswood Oval on Sunday 29 January.
At the Chinese New Year Celebration Day on 21 January, the Chatswood CBD will come alive with live entertainment.
Other highlights include the Lunar New Year Comedy Festival, a contemporary concert featuring 'Australia's R&B Princess' Milan Ring, lion dances and a new multi-cultural visual arts exhibition.
There will be dozens of free lantern making workshops, culminating in a spectacular Twilight Lantern Parade on Sunday 5 February. And don't miss out on the popular Golden Market, featuring over 35 unique stallholders, on Thursdays and Fridays, along with Saturday 21 January.
