PolArt Sydney presents YOUTHFEST - a mini festival within a festival, YouthFest is an opportunity for the PolArt community to celebrate the Polish youth of Australia and New Zealand. Be taken on a journey of exploration with second, third and even fourth generation Polish youth who will showcase the many facets of Polish culture through dance, art, literature, and music.

Located at the iconic Sydney Town Hall, this free event for young people and families features a fun-filled line-up of non-stop entertainment. Experience the amazing beauty of Polish culture through dance and music performances, free interactive activities, children's author visits and book readings, games, workshops, and market stalls.

Be delighted and entertained by the youngest in the festival right through to seasoned adult performers who will present the very best of Polish folkloric dance. The stage will be full of colourful and festive Polish dance costumes and energetic, fun, lively dances. Enjoy folkloric dances presented by Kujawy Sydney, Kukułeczka Perth, Lajkonik Sydney, Orlęta Wellington, Orzeł Wellington, Podhale Sydney, Polonus Christchurch, Rzeszowiacy of Newcastle, Syrenka Sydney, Tatry Adelaide, and Wielkopolska Canberra - dancing groups from across Australia and New Zealand, who will present dances from various, beautiful Polish regions.

Hear musicians entertain us with music from across Poland. Learn to sing and dance to Polish songs through interactive workshops led by leading dance and music specialists from across Australia.

Enjoy the very best of Polish children's literature. Attendees will get a chance to interact with one of Poland's most famous children's authors Marta Galewska Kustra (via livestream) as she presents material from her well-known book series Pucio. Monika Athanasiou, a Polish-born children's author living in Melbourne will also share her book 'I think I Swallowed a Butterfly'. A range of free activities exploring these special books will be available for festival participants.

Kids - we have so many fun things for you to do. Learn how to make traditional Polish paper-cutting art works called Wycinanki, and keep your hands busy doing a whole variety of other visual arts activities. Get creative at our Lego table and build your very own Polish-inspired Lego masterpiece. There are lots of interactive games to play with family and friends. When it's time to wind things down a little, why not head to our special book corner to discover a range of children's books in both Polish and English. Parents, there is also a carefully curated line-up of interesting stalls featuring a range of Polish goods, ceramics, jewellery and more.

Entry is free but please register via Eventbrite to avoid missing out.
