Out Of This World presented by Environmental Film Festival Australia (EFFA) is a thought-provoking online program running from Thursday 29 October - Sunday 8 November 2020 with films being screened on demand that will engage audiences in connective- participative and surprising ways. EFFA is taking a close look at the interactions between science- technology- philosophy and art- and aims to facilitate conversations that make the familiar unfamiliar - or strangely familiar and familiarly strange.Out Of This World will provide a social space to develop ideas- imagine the future- and rethink our relationship with ecology- science- fiction- science fiction- film- and more broadly- the Earth.This series of events kicks off with a keynote address from Dr Lewis Dartnall and the screening of Poissonsexe (Fishlove) by Olivier Babinet on Thursday 29 October at 7pm.Followed by seven feature films including the Australian premiere of Echoes of the Invisible screened on-demand and covering topics like the meat of the future- eight men and women sealed in an airtight terrarium in the Arizona desert- an adventurous quest that illustrates the issues of the modern world through the eyes of a child and many more!There are also panel discussions- masterclasses- a cooking workshop- mini-lectures and free kids activities.For more information and to buy tickets please visit www.effa.org.au

Take it or leave it!'Take It or Leave It' is the story of Erik's long- complicated and sometimes comical journey of becoming a father. A story in the course of which an ordinary Estonian man becomes a hero of everyday life- Superman- who is ready to confront fatherhood tooth and nail and the film asks us what makes a father a father?The film is presented in Estonian with English subtitles- and runs for 102 minutes.For the safety of our community- our Covid-19 safety plan requires visitors to register their attendance prior to arrival via TryBooking. She has devoted many years as a volunteer at the Sydney Jewish Museum- telling her story to thousands of student and adult visitors.In this online talk- Lotte's sons- Gary and Johnny- will tell us more about her miraculous and heartbreaking story of survival.We will also screen a short film made by Sarita Gold- which profiles Lotte and her daughter in-law and artist Thea Weiss. He most recently featured in Guy Sebastian's music video Standing With You. Madison also appeared on stage as the flamboyant Willie in the Australian Premiere of the Off-Broadway sensation The View Upstairs and the lovable fugitive slave Jim in Big River at Hayes Theatre. Other musical theatre credits include Miss Saigon- Sweet Charity- and What the World Needs Now. He also played the Apollo MC in the Australian tour of Buddy: The Musical and Toad in the Australian Shakespeare Company's production of The Wind in the Willows. Madison's feature film credits include The Mystery of Natalie Wood directed by Peter Bogdanovic and the USA docu-drama Your Number's Up: Blood Money. Madison has also presented his cabaret Yank Down Under at both Seymour Centre and City Recital Hall in Andrew Bukenya's cabaret series 2 x 20.Through his production company- MJM Entertainment Australia- Madison has presented shows including Soul Cabaret: Theatre Performers on a Soul Trip- Positive Vibes- Dream it! Do it! Live it! and the Heart & Soul Harbour Cruise to name a few.
