Showcasing a kaleidoscopic selection of films from Korea's booming film industryThe Korean Film Festival in Australia (KOFFIA) returns for its 11th year presenting a dynamic and FREE virtual program of cinematic gems to audiences across Australia.Showcasing a kaleidoscopic selection of films direct from Korea's booming film industry - Hallyuwood- the program will feature the very best in contemporary Korean cinema.Presented by the Korean Cultural Centre Australia- the 2020 Festival will screen 18 feature films to audiences across Australia. From the compelling true story behind a Korean President's assassination to an award-winning drama based off a ground-breaking feminist bestseller- the Festival showcases an eclectic program from Korea's pre-eminent filmmakers.KOFFIA is a cinematic experience for people of all tastes- ages and cultural backgrounds. Every film presented at the Festival screens with English subtitles. Films will be available at a scheduled time and streaming is available up to 30 minutes after the scheduled time.

Short fiction and documentary film programme that covers the different expressions and representations of the LGBTI+ community with a clear commitment to give an image of the creativity around these identities. The programme presents excellent cinematographic works from Spain- Colombia- as well as a Mexican-American co-production. You'll also get to cast your vote for People's Choice Award live.Filmmaking workshop: Saturday 31 OctoberSo you've shot some video footage using your phone and now you need to edit it together. Perhaps you're not sure how to go about it the right way- or you aren't sure about which editing software to use?Whether you are putting together your first short film or uploading a vlog to Youtube- this online editing workshop will provide beginner video editors with the basics for taking videos to the next level.In this hands-on workshop- with experienced film editor- Jordan Swioklo you will learn the basics of editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. You can get creative by using different transitions- adding simple effects- titles and soundtracks. You will also learn key information about how to import and set up your project correctly- file types- file size and how to export your final cut.No prior knowledge of editing is needed but basic computer skills will be assumed. Participants are encouraged to come ready with their own footage and any music tracks they wish to use. Royalty-free film footage and soundtracks will also be available for use- if requested prior to the workshop. Participants are also required to have Adobe Premiere Pro installed and working on their computer prior to the workshop. If you do not already own the software- please download a free trial.All events are free however bookings are essential. The international platform for the support- exhibition and production of audiovisual dance Fiver promotes choreographic-audiovisual creation by promoting the professionalization of the film dance genre with the organization- since 2012- of an internationally renowned annual festival: FIVER.After the success of FIVER 2019- which celebrated its seventh edition with actions in Logrono and Madrid- its two main venues- this 2020 and for the second consecutive year- the Fiver-Cervantes program is being carried out within the festival- with a Selection of works by Spanish and Latin American creators and curated by Samuel Retortillo- wants to offer a current vision of audiovisual dance through works that have been produced by Fiver or that have been finalists in its international competition.The works of prestigious Spanish film directors of three generations are a perfect selection to show how cinedance has become a language of specific movement- where the creator brings dance to life through the screen. There are five works that can be enjoyed at Fiver-Cervantes 2020: the winner of the special FIVER 2019 award- I Love the Maids for Unreal- by Sofia Castro (Argentina)- the finalist- Babelian Circles- by Ferrand Romeu- and the collaborative works Fiverlabs 2019- Body to Body 2.0- coordinated by Esteban Crucci and Jordi Cortes- Wine or Grape ?- coordinated by Álex Pachon- and Bailaora- by Rubin Stein.This program is expanded with «Confined Bodies»- a series of videos that have been made during confinement- in order to analyze and give value to the creative proposals carried out during this period- by authors of the stature of Elias Aguirre- Richar Mascherin- Asun Noales- Alex Pachon- Jesus Rubio- Antonio Ruz- Guido Sarli and Pablo Venero.This comprehensive program will be presented within the framework of the Baila Espana festival in Bremen- which- in addition to its face-to-face celebration- will have a digital version this year- in which a wide variety of online activities will be offered- which will be accessible to all users of the Instituto Cervantes network of centers.

The 2020 edition of Polish Film Festival Sydney presents a range of contemporary and award-winning works from renowned and up and coming Polish filmmakers.The Festival opens with one of the most expensive Polish film productions of all time. THE LEGIONS by Dariusz Gajewski is an epic history drama that follows a love triangle set against the backdrop of the heroic struggle of Polish Legions to win independence from Tsarist Russia.Closing the Festival is the Australian premiere of CHARLATAN- a fascinating biographical drama by three time Oscar nominee Agnieszka Holland (Mr.Jones- Spoor- Europa Europa) of an exceptional Czech healer who cured thousands with plant-based remedies.Another highlight of the programme is the all-star VALLEY OF THE GODS from visionary director Lech Majewski- starring John Malkovich- Josh Harnett (Black Hawk Down)- Berenice Marlohe (Skyfall)- Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey) and John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings trilogy). A cross between fantasy and sci-fi takes the viewers on a surreal journey between three interweaving stories to illustrate the clash between traditions of ancient civilizations and the modern high-tech world of the super rich.Brimming with jazz ICARUS. THE TASTE OF PHO by Japan born and Poland based Mariko Bobrik is a warm story of a Vietnamese cook living in Warsaw and struggling to fit into the European culture- which his ten year old daughter has already embraced as her own. THE IRON BRIDGE by Monika Jordan-Mlodzianowska is a dramatic story about a love triangle set in a Silesian mining community.For our younger audience we have THE DAY OF CHOCOLATE- a delightful adaptation of the award-winning book by Anna Onichimowska under the same title- about the adventures of Monika and Dawid. La Haine is a 1995 French black-and-white drama film written- co-edited- and directed by Mathieu Kassovitz.When a young Arab is arrested and beaten unconscious by police- a riot erupts in the notoriously violent suburbs outside of Paris.
