Pickleball on Tuesdays and Fridays 2020
Perry Park Recreation Centre will be running casual Pickleball weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays.Pickleball is a low-impact fun game that's easy to learn and suitable for all ages. It is a combination of tennis- ping-pong and badminton that is played on a court about the size of a badminton court. It is played with a paddle and perforated ball.Pickleball is a great way to improve your fitness. Playing the sport will get you moving and make you feel great in the process.Come by yourself or bring a friend- everyone will share the courts when they play.For more information about the centre- please visit our website.Please note that no injury insurance will be provided.Participants play at their own risk. If you have any concerns about participating in the program- please speak with you medical professional. Just bring a can-do attitude and we will show you everything you need to know. Please wear clothes that can get dirty and covered sturdy shoes. Myofascial release class 2020
Myofascial release class introduces safe and effective technique that involves applying pressure to your muscles and Myofascial connective tissue to help relieve tension- pain and restore motion.This class is specifically designed using props such as foam rollers and massage balls to find the bodies trigger points and smooth out hard knots- returning the fascia to its normal fluid state.Although floor-based- this class can be painful- as we search for problematic areas to release in the body.Please make sure you have a clear area to move. The video can be paused at any time to get a drink of water or to have a breather. Exercise within your physical limits to stay safe and injury free. If during exercising- you become injured or exhibit signs of distress such as chest pains- you should stop exercising immediately and call 000 emergency services for assistance.Health and medical concernsWe encourage you to seek appropriate medical advice or assistance before participating in any online fitness classes- especially if you not been physically active and- or are aged 60 years and above.You may check your health clearance prior to starting or using our fitness classes on this online pre-exercise form.
