Focusing on Mendieta's, Blood sign (1974) and Lynda Benglis's Female sensibility (1973) currently on display as part of the exhibition, Deep Inside My Heart, the talk will explore how Mendieta and Benglis used performance and their own bodies to assert their politics, gender and sexuality.
