Very excited to announce our 2nd beginners' course for the 2024.

Its Winter, its cold, why not learn how to sew on Sundays?

The course will run over these weekends;

  • Sunday 7 July 11am - 2pm. (3 hours)

  • Sunday 14 July 11am - 2pm. (3 hours)

The 4-week beginners' sewing course is aimed at the novice budding seamstress, teaching you the ins and outs of sewing with a view to move on to the intermediate course later in the year.

The course will cover everything from setting up a sewing machine, taking accurate measurements, fabric choices, stitch choices, hand sewing, mending, hemming and all that's in between.

With a variety of topics to cover, the best way to learn is to do! Throughout the 4 weeks of the course, you will fashion a garment tailored to your specific measurements, learning practical skills and building confidence behind a sewing machine.

In addition to your very own garment to take home, you will also receive the pattern for the garment you have produced. Plus, you will learn every tip and sewing trick Mama Shirl has learned during her illustrious career as the go to seamstress for the Sydney drag scene and outfit couturier.

To ensure you get the most out of the course with the opportunity to receive personal, 1 on 1 assistance and any questions you have can be covered, Spaces are strictly limited.
