Women writing poetry is aesthetic, intellectual and physical. The sheer hard work and energy of writing poetry emerges on stage for an innovative livestreaming event.

Therapeutic, formative of hard-won wisdom and transformative in the challenge to break the bias, the poets represent a broad cross-section of contemporary Australian women poets with the intention to create a dialogue. Expect a controversial meandering in-and-out from one another, socially, politically, sexually, racially, experientially and creatively to illustrate the great diversity of theses women's lives and their creative expression.

A range of women poets from a diversity and variety of voice, thought, place and poetic preoccupation will feature at the performance livestreaming hour-long event include: Acclaimed writer, Opera Australia director and performer of Six Quick Chicks, Liesel Badorrek will be the evening's host; award-winning writer, director and performer Melita Rowston, whose recent play Cockroach toured internationally to rave reviews; performance poet powerhouse, actor, dancer and activist Mel Ree; Esteemed Sydney based poet, Elizabeth Allen's poetry, short-fiction and literary criticism is published in well-respected Australian publications; poet and editor, Michele Seminara, whose second full-length collection, Suburban Fantasy (UWA Publishing, 2021) is a feminist exploration of the dark underbelly of suburbia. Cabaret poetry diva and former Inner West Councillor, Stanmore Ward for The Greens, Lou Steer; Video poetry by Elena Knox, whose work amplifies impulses to totemism, idolatry and fetishism, she is represented by Anomaly, Japan and award winning Papua New Guinean-Australian digital content maker and poet, Alana Hicks.
