The Sydney Bach Society in partnership with Create NSW is delighted to present the 2022 Caccini Circle concerts.
Set in the beautiful surrounds of Christ Church St Laurence, these free* lunchtime recitals bring together some of Australia's most beloved classical artists, pairing each performer with an award winning composer in what promises to be a dynamic and thrilling musical experience.
Named after the Baroque composing and singing sensation, Francesca Caccini (1587 - 1640), these concerts celebrate the rich and varied compositional voices of Australia's women. Each Caccini commission asks our selected composer to delve into the Baroque repertory and reimagine the works of the past for a diverse 21st Century audience.
SEPTEMBER 8, 1PM
On September 8, special guest violinist, Liisa Pallandi (from the Australian Chamber Orchestra) presents a stunning recital of J.S. Bach alongside the world premiere of a new work by jazz performer and composer, Keyna Wilkins.
NOVEMBER 3, 1PM
On November 3, classical guitarist Dr Josinaldo Costa and violinist Timothy Lee present a recital of Venetian classics alongside a world premiere by composer Georgia Scott - the 2021 winner of the Australia Council National Arts and Disabilities Award.
We hope you'll join us for these spectacular events.
