City of Sydney Library Lunchtime Conversations are a series of free talks with authors, artists and experts.
Join award-winning photographer Dr John Janson-Moore to explore his photographs of Covid-19, the ongoing climate crisis and Aboriginal deaths in custody.
Through his photography, John explores the psychological and social response to these issues. His work asks, what can photography reveal about how we grapple with some of the most significant issues of our time?
John considers these inextricably linked issues to be at the epicentre of a dramatic, society-wide shift over the last 12 months. This shift has starkly revealed the deep, underlying fissures that lie at the very foundations of our country.
At the shift's coalface are stories of activists, grass roots community movements and concerned citizens. Those most impacted by these monumental upheavals also must be heard: young people, elders, frontline workers and the vulnerable. Take a photographic dive into these complex issues that linger beyond the daily news cycle.
The guest speaker's presentation will be followed by a short Q&A session.
