Nurrewin is a land, isolated and wild, on the hills of Wollombi, in the lower Hunter valley, where Mahoney paints and draws listening to the whispering of Nature.
Memories of the land, secret messages, forgotten stories, on large paintings (pure pigments, oil and wax on board) and small works (watercolour, charcoal, ink, pastel on paper).
Exhibition of the work in Landship Gallery, Headland Park, Mosman a former army base transformed in a national park with an artist village, cafés, walking trails, barbecue, picnic areas… on Georges Head overlooking the entrance of Sydney Harbour.
Celebration with the artist
Saturday 16 November at 4pm, with Penny Walton, artist and illustrator of Australian native plants and birds, launching the exhibition.
