This fun 6-week cooking and nutrition course is designed to help you make lasting changes for better health.
You'll learn how to save money on your food, store food safely, understand food labels, new food knowledge, cooking skills and to plan meals to reduce food waste.
Each session runs for 2.5 hours and includes fun nutritional activities, practical good cooking lessons, and a social meal.
Program:
11am to 12pm: Talk on nutrition
12pm to 1pm: Cooking
1pm to 1:30pm: Lunch
The course starts on Friday 29 September and ends on 3 November. You must commit to all 6 weeks to attend and be aged 18 years or over. You also need to wear closed shoes and have your hair tied back.
Participants will receive a certificate and cookbook.
The classes are run by OzHarvest's nutrition, education skills training (NEST) program.
OzHarvest NEST is aligned with the Australian Dietary Guidelines and works with everyone to set realistic goals around healthy eating, which are reviewed and revised each week, so real and lasting change can be made.
