Get the most out of your visit at the Australian National Botanic Gardens on a free guided walk.

Led by our knowledgeable guides, these walks allow you to appreciate the beauty and clever adaptations of Australian plants and the research and effort involved in creating and maintaining the Gardens.

These walks are held at 11.00 am daily. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure time.

Special themed walks are held throughout the year:

Endangered Species: 16 - 22 May . As part of Endangered Species Day, see some of the beautiful Australian plant species that are endangered, hear about threats to their survival and learn what the Gardens is doing to help preserve them.

Fire and Water: 13 - 19 Jun. Fires of varying intensities have a significant impact on Australia's landscapes. Some plants rely on or respond well to fire, while others are killed by fire. Some plants need continuous water, in wetlands, while others prefer dry conditions. A volunteer guide will show you examples of all of these on this tour.

Ancient Plants and Animals: 18 - 24 July. See what the vegetation was like in the age of dinosaurs and how it had changed by the time the megafauna appeared.

No booking required for individuals. For groups of 6 or more, please contact walks@friendsanbg.org.au
