Gallery 1 | Suspended scenery - Three approaches to landscape by Sandra Barnard, Jun Chen & Kurt Sorensen
'To hold something in suspense is to keep it undetermined; to remain in a state of indefinite in-conclusion. In Suspended Scenery, Sandra Barnard, Jun Chen and Kurt Sorensen investigate suspense through analogue photo media processes. Landscapes become scenes of investigation into the elusive, inescapable and uncanny qualities of time.'
Gallery 2 | Decision Paintings by Sophia Fleming
'My Decision paintings are a visual articulation of the decisions I've been making during this unpredictable year and the efforts to relinquish a sense of control over my life. Through my practice I am working on recovering my intuition after recently releasing myself from the emotional rollercoaster of artificial hormones and a codependent relationship. My work is an assemblage of languages from reality, dreams, and divination. I use these elements to visually define gut feelings, the feeling of social pressure, self doubt, and internal moral conflict and to manifest results.'
Gallery 3 | Nests in Isolation by Rachel Anne Buch
'My name is Rachel Anne Buch (RAB) and I am an artist from Sydney. My usual practice is to create large, life sized nests that are interactive. My artworks are designed to create a sense of community in the audience through collaboration and a relaxed performance setting. After doing a year of residencies and performances in the NorthernTerritory, Adelaide, Port Noarlunga, Paris, London, Edinburgh and Sydney, it was a really confronting contrast to suddenly bring my practice to a new COVID environment. I needed to create a body of work without an audience.'
Gallery 4 | Beautiful Bodies by David Lindesay
'Lindesay's work is born from the rage of violation. The physicality of his work is emphasised by the corrupted and defaced surface of the Polaroid photographs, as well as the ripping and taring of the prints. Coupled with the physical touch in the substance of the work, and added to by the artists treatment of it, Lindesay creates an outward expression of aggression and hostile touch.'
