Connect with Country at 388 George Street, Sydney
1 June: A traditional smoking ceremony will kick off Reconciliation Week at 388 George Street. This ancient cultural practice cleanses the past for a better future, using the smoke from dried native Australian plants. Smoking ceremonies vary between regions, with the plants used differing depending on the location. They carry deep cultural significance, ushering in good health, wellbeing and protection.
5 - 16 June: Visit a free art gallery from 8:30am to 6pm weekdays. A rotating gallery of artworks by First Nations artists, curated by Dalmarri, will be on display in the lobby. Don't miss your chance to meet the artists on June 9 and 16, 1:15pm to 2pm. The artwork is available for visitors to browse and purchase with proceeds going directly to the artists themselves, Trevor Eastwood and Jason Douglas.
21 June: Grab a brush and make your mark on a 2.4-metre-long canvas, while learning about traditional practice and symbolism from a guiding First Nations artist.
