Gordi is the musical moniker of Australian singer-songwriter-producer, Sophie Payten, from the tiny agricultural town of Canowindra (population 2,500).

Since her globally acclaimed debut in 2017, the ARIA nominated artist has quickly become one of the most cherished Australian Indie/folk songwriters, recognised for her unique and progressive approach to her craft, while anchored to a deep connection with traditional songwriting skills.

Gordi has collaborated and performed with artists including Troye Sivan, Bon Iver, members of Sigur Ros, Sam Smith, Julien Baker and Missy Higgins. Her work has won awards from triple j, FBi Radio, APRA, PPCA, and the Australia Council for the Arts as well as multiple features in local and international media including PitchforkBBCThe Guardian and more.

Sophie also completed her medical studies over the past six years, becoming a Doctor amidst international tours and her blossoming music career. Throughout COVID Sophie spent most of her time between Victoria and New South Wales working in multiple hospitals, whilst releasing the critically acclaimed album 'Our Two Skins' and performing a number of unique shows including a live stream from the Sydney Opera House, singing the national anthem at The Australian Open's Women's grand final and Channel 9's 'Sounds Better Together' TV broadcast.
