Darlo has the greatest honour to host the launch of Sydney's newest Haus* - with the return of our Ballroom-in-the-round.
To celebrate the launch, Muvva Shakur and their children will take the Darlo stage by storm. During this variety night extravaganza you will be party to the beginning of a legacy in the rich history and culture of Ballroom.
This is your rare invitation into the Ballroom scene, an art form that has been largely barred from mainstream spaces. It will be a launching pad as you've never seen it before. Experience jaw-dropping drag, legendary live performances from rap artists to belly dancers, and of course - lots of glitter and a DJ.
This night will celebrate a collective that will serve as a safe and nurturing space for Bla(c)k queer folk of all creeds and walks of life. It is welcome to all identities; community members and allies alike - to celebrate the iconic talent of Bla(c)k Queers in Sydney.
'Haus of Shakur is like a very big messy Bla(c)k family except a thousand times as camp and doubly as fabulous.' says Muvva Shakur. 'Haus of Shakur is iconic. Black AF. Everything. Join us.'
Performances by:
JamarzOnMarz
