Peter Thiedeke's artwork TWIFSY (The world is fine, save yourself) is a dazzling installation comprising of an array of programmed illuminated box panels. The artwork presents a utopian/dystopian fiction of the smart city mediated by algorithms that seek to mesh people and objects with digital networks.

'TWIFSY aims to stimulate thought about future existence--when the real and virtual have merged to form an entirely artificial world of planetary-scale computation. What kind of world do we collectively want, can we agree, and do we have the power to decide for ourselves?'

Peter Thiedeke is an interdisciplinary image-maker whose practice is concerned with post digital critique. He works at the intersection of art and design and currently lectures in design at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. He has exhibited extensively in Australia and internationally.
