Then come aboard the original 19th-century sailing ship James Craig and discover the secret lives of sea shanties!
Learn how shanties were used in the Age of Sail, what the nautical words and phrases actually mean, and try out a shanty at sea for yourself!
Backed by the musical and historical knowledge of shanty singers Forty Degrees South and the Redfern Shanty Club, this three-hour Harbour cruise will introduce you to the different types of shanties used at sea, the stories behind them, and give you a real hands-on experience at using shanties on a working tall ship!
Minimum age: all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult
Catering: Drinks and snacks available to purchase onboard.
What to wear: Please wear sensible footwear.
Boarding Time: 1:30pm for 2:00pm departure
End Time: 5:00pm

Walk from Town Hall station across the historic Pyrmont Bridge (15 min)
Darling Harbour ferry from Wharf 5 at Circular Quay and alight at Pyrmont Bay. (2 min)
Light Rail from Central station and alight at Pyrmont Bay - limited services. (3 min)
Bus No 389 which runs from Bondi Junction to Pyrmont and goes through the city via Park St. (2 min)
Parking at Harbourside Car Park, Murray Street. (5 min)
Other special instructions:
If, in the opinion of the Master on the day of the event the wind or sea state is deemed unsuitable for the comfort of passengers, the event will be cancelled. A raincheck voucher will be issued. Smoking on board strictly prohibited.
To comply with national law the operators of _James Craig _are required to complete a manifest comprising the following information of ALL passengers: Name / Address / Phone No (Email address optional).
