Loud Island Sessions is bringing quality Australian independent music to audiences stuck at home during lockdown.
We're setting the bar high with our first performance by Sydney Soul/RnB vocalist Natalie Slade, celebrating the release of her official debut single Love Light, produced by Hiatus Kaiyote's Paul Bender.
Join our host Klue to launch Loud Island Sessions and soak up the isolate-experience of Natalie performing Love Light, Humidity and other unreleased tracks with her band featuring Ben Freeman (aka the Die Youngs) on keys, Inês on backing vocals, Nicholas Meredith on drums and Brendan Clark on bass.
Natalie's forthcoming debut album Control is being released on London based label Eglo Records, the imprint responsible for pivotal releases from Floating Points, Fatima, Funkineven and Shafiq Husayn. Control is produced and co-written with Simon Mavin of Hiatus Kaiyote and featuring Paul Bender.
Love Light is set to release on Friday, May 1. Produced by Hiatus Kaiyote's Paul Bender, the young Sydney based talent shines on this timeless piece of enchanting broken soul. Bender's classic groove based analogue production perfectly complimenting the singers emotive buttery tones and an approach to writing and storytelling well beyond her years.
Loud Island is a social enterprise, led by Katie Barry, working for a more musically connected Sydney. We are independent musicians and arts workers producing collaborative projects that connect music, communities and well-being.
This project has been waiting in the wings for a couple of years now but there's never been a more critical time to broadcast live music from some of Sydney's most talented, independent, musicians, vocalists, bands and performers.
