Performance by Alli Sebastian Wolf. Costumes by Melanie Gilbank. Mentoring by Emma Maye.
Everything you never knew you always wanted to know about the Clitoris. From the creator of The Glitoris comes a show about the passions, struggles, and pleasures of our most misunderstood body part. A show for anyone with, or who cares about anyone with, a clitoris.
Content Warning: This show contains graphic imagery of human genitalia and an unjustifiable amount of sequins
About the artistAlli Sebastian Wolf is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist working across theatre, performance and visual art. Alli is a creative director/writer/costume maker for performance collective Deep Sea Astronauts. Career highlights include: Performing with Amanda Palmer on the Opera House mainstage, inclusion in Best Australian Stories, features in media around the world including The Guardian and Teen Vogue, the Excellence in New Theatre Award from Sydney Fringe Festival and Spirit of Youth award from Qantas, residencies at the ABC, Phare Ponleu Selpak in Cambodia, HotHouse Theatre, PACT and Queen Street Studios, The CAL NSW Premier's Western Sydney Writers' Fellowship, and many more.
Her artwork the Glitoris (a giant sparkling 100:1 scale model anatomical of a clitoris) was created in 2017 and immediately went viral, being shared hundreds of thousands of times in many languages and continues to be referenced today. This sculpture and the accompanying roving performance The Clitorati have been seen in festivals, galleries and events including All About Women at the Sydney Opera House, The Australian University, The National Science Centre, concerts (Glitoris Band and Amanda Palmer on the Opera House Main-stage) and many queer events and parties. It's been included in academic texts and countless news articles, most recently with a second article in The Guardian (included in support documentation)- because people still have a deep need for this information.
