A self described 'geeky kid performing in primary school assemblies', Odette's first influences emerged at home. Her South African mother introduced her to soul and funk, while her father's side of the family is responsible for connecting her to the keys.
A melting pot of culture and influences, singer-songwriter Odette's wordly-wise and astute songwriting has certainly made her mark on both the Australian and international music scene. The release of her debut album To A Stranger sparked a legion of growing fans and admirers resulting in the record amassing nearly 45 million streams, two consecutive triple j Hottest 100 entries and two nominations in at the 2018 ARIA's including 'Breakthrough Artist'.
Alongside the accolades, Odette has embarked on two sold-out national tours of Australia, performed at numerous festivals and completed shows as far afield as Dublin, London, Zurich and Paris. To A Stranger is a bold and confident debut record, brimming with deliberate melodies, clever compositions and lyrical meditations on love and life plucked straight from the heart. Deeply personal and captivating in presence, Odette is one not to miss.
Presented as part of the Great Southern Nights, a NSW Government initiative to kick start the recovery of the live music industry and delivered through Destination NSW and ARIA.
